How to Find EV Charging Stations

If you’re going to buy a green vehicle of your own, you probably have some questions. Most people who visit us here at Woodhouse Hyundai of Omaha are concerned about the range of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. What if they start to run out of charge on a long trip? You’ll need to find some EV charging stations.
Fortunately, there are more charging stations out there than ever before, and more keep getting added as drivers take the plunge and buy EVs of their own. Here’s what you need to know about charging stations.
Finding Charging Stations
The Hyundai brand has forged a partnership with Electrify America. You can use their website or their app to find nearby chargers.
You can also use their system to plan out your route in advance and find charging stations along the way. You can even get some complimentary charger use out of the deal.
Know Your Charging Speeds
Different charging stations can actually have different speeds. Level 2 chargers are probably going to be some of the more common ones you see on the road. These can add 25-30 miles of range to an EV for every hour or so of charging. These are great if you plan to stop off and take a break from driving for a bit or eat a meal.
You may also be able to find faster chargers. Level 3 charging, sometimes known as DC fast charging, can add a lot more range in a shorter period of time. The 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric can go from 10% battery to 80% in less than an hour with such a charger.
