When is Leasing Better Than Buying?
Leasing is a great option for drivers who like to upgrade their vehicles frequently. When a new car catches you eye a few years from now, there’s no fussing with a trade-in or worrying about depreciation.
Just turn in your car at the end of your lease and get something new.
How Long Do Leases Last?
Leases generally last two to three years. Getting a short-term lease, like a one-year term, is rarely an option.
What Are My Lease-End Options?
At the end of your lease, you normally have a few options. You can extend the lease for a few months, which can be convenient if you plan to buy or lease a new car that hasn’t arrived at dealerships yet.
You can turn in your leased vehicle and lease or buy something new. You can also buy the vehicle you’ve been leasing outright.
Can I End My Lease Early?
In some cases, you can end your lease early. This will usually end up hurting your credit, however, so it’s wise to see things through once you’ve committed to a lease.
What’s the Difference Between a Down Payment and the Amount Due at Signing?
You may have heard the terms “down payment” and “amount due at signing.” Your down payment is part of that amount due at signing, which also includes various taxes, fees, and deposits.
What Happens if I Exceed my Mileage Limit?
Each lease comes with a mileage limit. Go over that limit, say 12,000 miles per year, and you’ll pay extra fees when you turn in your leased car.
