The 2022 Hyundai Tucson vs. the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Engine Options

Both crossovers offer a great selection of engines, including green options. The base engine for the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe produces 191 horsepower, while the default powertrain for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson maxes out at 187 horsepower. The Hyundai Santa Fe is also available with a more powerful turbo engine that ups the ante to 281 horsepower.

Both models also offer hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. So, if you want to go green, either Hyundai SUV is a great choice!

Interior Space

These models are both more on the compact side, but they offer plenty of room for five passengers and some cargo. The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe edges out the 2022 Hyundai Tucson when it comes to passenger volume, with 111.5 cubic feet compared to 108.2 cubic feet.

However, the Hyundai Tucson wins on total available cargo space, 80.3 cubic feet versus 72.1 cubic feet.

Versatility and Capability

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe might be the better choice for drivers who need a more capable crossover. It can tow up to 3,500 pounds and it’s available in a specialized off-road trim, the Hyundai Santa Fe XRT, which offers 8.2 inches of ground clearance.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is still impressive though. It offers an all-wheel drive system and the ability to tow up to 2,000 pounds.
